Boston, Massachusetts (USA) - Westport point, MA artist, Dora Atwater Millikin selects Walker-Cunningham Fine Art to represent her latest body of work.

Millikin's work reveals, with careful study of atmosphere and movement, the allure of the vernacular landscape. Millikin transcends the ordinary and brings to her canvases a sense of place and time beyond her command of the structure, design, line, color, surface and other formal issues and elements of her craft. Influenced by early American Modernism, Millikin's subject of coastal New England scenery has an emphasis on the gritty, industrial aspects of landscape, the ordinary and the contemporary.

Dora Atwater Millikin's solo exhibition opens Thursday, September 10, 2009 and ends October 10, 2009. 10% of sales will benefit the Trustees of Reservations (http://www.thetrustees.org/), whose mission it is to "preserve, for public use and enjoyment, properties of exceptional scenic, historic, and ecological value in Massachusetts."
